Spring is starting to – ummm – spring.
After a lazy few days (that’s me not Spring) I’m about to pop next door to the Forge shop and look after it for a few hours. Dee has to go to a funeral.
Should you ever be in Ballinamore then a visit to Dee’s shop is a must do.
It is a treasure trove of pretty much everything and tends to be a kind of hub for the community.
Want a card – candle – fishin line – coffee mug – bait – toys – jewellery – winter coat – crock pot – staples – sparkle – cards – nails – fencing wire – bird seed – pens – plates – …. it’s all there.
I’ll have fun as some things have no prices so I make them up. It’s particularly funny for anything to do with fishing as I have no idea what half the stuff is.
So – for the next few hours I’ll be saying hi to lots of people, tidying a few shelves, wrapping a few presents, more tidying – and a bit of chat.
Have a lovely Spring day. I will.

What a gorgeous picture. It looks just like many places in MI. I suppose that is why many Irish folk, my great grandmother included, did not feel quite so lonely leaving their homeland (Ireland) to come to America.
Namaste, Lindy
Hi Lindy
Yeh – it’s pretty beautiful around here. That is the canal at the bottom of my street. The whole area is surrounded by mountains and lakes and little towns. I love it and feel very happy to live here.

I am breathing that picture in, dear Liz. While I always say Brooklyn is beautiful, I must admit Ballinamore is not bad at all.
I am reminded of a man I once knew who used to say Tobay Beach on Long Island (New York) is the most beautiful place in the world. I’d heard him say that a few times and finally asked politely “Uh…it’s nice here, but it’s certainly not the MOST beautiful place in the world.” He turned to me and said “Wherever you are is the most beautiful place in the world.” A wise man indeed.
Still…your picture sure beats the heck out of Tobay Beach. Thanks for sharing. I hope one day to see it in person.
Have a lovely weekend. The store sounds like fun.
