Not a bad day for a Monday … sun shining … dog walked … work done … said hi to the neighbours … library books returned … chatted to Dad in Oz … uploaded and resized photos for this post …
Had a great weekend that started on Friday.
Brent in Moo asked me to help them behind the bar for the Maria Doyle Kennedy concert that night.
Now folks … I know it was raining buckets but you really really missed a great concert.
To the 20 or so people who braved the wet and cold weather … special blessings on you … Anne, Gregory, Sharon, Kevin, Joe, Orla, Shelia …. you were a great audience.
Marie’s voice … her husbands guitar skills … the lyrics … it all had me spellbound. She sang songs from all her albums.
Marie’s an extremely talented singer and songwriter … and a really lovely person. She took time to sign cd’s for people and stayed chatting until we closed.
Do yourself a favour and grab one or all of her albums … a real delight and one of the most pleasurable music experiences I’ve had in a long long time.
You can listen to some of the tracks from Marie’s albums on her site.
If we’re very lucky she may come back again.
On Saturday I got to spend the day with Maggie and John Joe as we went on the hunt for a small dishwasher for Mags (she’s really posh now) … and then wandered around a few shops … and then into Lidl in Carrick.
After all that excitement … Mags and I have a great time chatting and laughing … I popped in to Lynda and Derek for hamburgers and some great chat. Mags dropped in just before midnight … and we just continued laughing and chatting.
What can I say? I have wild neighbours … really … it’s them … not me …
Lovely quiet Sunday with the papers and a fry up … afternoon nap required after all that reading and eating … then 2 hours housecleaning.
I now have a perfectly ordered and cleaned lounge and kitchen … visitors now welcomed as it doesn’t look like the place has been attacked by rottweillers anymore.
Up and running at 8am and took Coco puppy for a 90 minute walk along Lock 5.
I love going there as it always looks different and is soooo peaceful.
Coco just loves running around and can now fetch sticks and drop them at my feet.
We walked to the end of the grass path … about 20ish minutes each way … and you get a great view of the river.
Coco gets very intent and interested in anything that moves … and that’s when you see the pointer in her … all focus …
Home for breakfast and some work.
Look how big Coco is now?
She lolls nearly as well as me.
Ever tried to type away on your computer as a puppy keeps jumping up to see what’s happening … fun.
Thanks to Therese Hamill for the lamb bone … Coco thinks that once a week a bone drops out of the sky (Therese throws it over my gate) … not a bad kind of miracle for a dog.
Tomorrow I’ll post the courses for Shaylyn … I’m going to try Pilates.
Sharon from Cannaboe Confectionary was at Marie’s concert and said how much she and her family enjoyed the interview I did about her and her business for this blog.
My pleasure … and check back on her flickr site for new photos of cakes she put up over the weekend … yum yum yum.
Hope your day has gone well.
Slan.
Liz
