I haven’t written for the past few days as I have been enjoying the (relative) sunshine we’ve been having here in Ballinamore.
Coco and I have been romping (well … more her romping and me walking sedately) along the grass path on Lock 5 … gorgeous and quiet.
The canal has been busy with people in their boats … saw a boat jam at the Ballinamore lock.
Some learner driver had the boat nearly horizontal across the water … funny if you’re watching but not if you’re driving. Some of the more experienced drivers yelled out suggestions.
I stopped and got talking with people on the boats as they waited … they were all enjoying their wander along the Leitrim waters.
Of course Coco was the star and one woman hopped off her boat to come pat her. The lady’s dog had only just died after 16 years. I now have a lot more empathy for the grief people feel when their pets die.
I’m about to start a new idea on this blog … Ballinamore Entrepreneurs.
Once a month I will interview a Ballinamore Entrepreneur and highlight why and how they do their business.
I did my first interview yesterday and will be posting it within the week.
I decided to start with products I LOVE … chocolate and cake …and chatted with Sharon Sweeney of Cannaboe Confectionery.
Before I talked with Sharon I was kind of ‘A cakes a cake’ … I’m now a convert to the artistry that can be brought to a humble mix of flour, eggs and stuff.
I’ll be posting heaps of photos.
I had a wonderful time chatting with Sharon and will now be ordering chocs as Xmas presents … and my birthday cakes for my 50th parties next year. I have heaps of time to work with Sharon on a simple stylish cake and an OTT baroque kind of cake … la la la … life is fun.
As I left Sharon gave me a gift of a selection of her hand made chocs … well dear reader … I found a new kind of heaven … and a new addiction … the most delicious chocs I have tasted in a long time.
Now … if only there was a champagne entrepreneur in Ballinamore …
There is an ice cream maker.
Ahhhh … it’s a tough task ….
I’ll also be posting photos from a recent Sunny Funny Garden painting session.
Today is a little busy as Maggie is taking Coco and me to the vet in Eniskillen. I’m fine … I just want Coco to get her needles and find out how old she is.
Enjoy your day … think of chocolates.
