It’s Sunday evening … Coco pup & I are relaxing by the fire … literally freezing outside and it snowed last night.
Brent & Mary have just left after dropping in a fridge freezer that used to be in the Moo Bar … I’ve been looking forward to the fridge for ages … it’s better than a boyfriend.
We (that’s Brent & Mary … not the fridge) enjoyed tea and cakes by the fire and chatted happily about the party we had last night.
Coco loved Brent and gave him a big love … she loved Mary as well and just lent against her.
Coco seriously thinks she’s a small dog
I got to bed around 6am … yup … a damn fine time was had by all.
Maggie and I co hostessed a farewell party for Lynda and Derek at her place last night.
We had an irish theme – boxty wrapping bacon and black pudding as well as vegetarian ones … poitin berry punch … chocolates handmade by Sharon of Cannaboe Confectionary … irish Tayto chips … pink bubbly … irish cheeses … yum
Here’s the cottage before the people turned up … and our first (and definitely not last) glass of bubbly.
Here are the good and great friends that Derek and Lynda made during their 9 month stay.
There was never a moment of silence when we all get together … lots of chat and laughter.

Brian, Dee & Mags … the only time I saw them all quiet
Mags is either telling a story or dancing … maybe both
Oh yeh … Bad Brian … he got a few clips on the head when he dryly commented to me that the reason the music had stopped was because …. I was standing in the way of the sound waves!!!
Now dear reader … I’m curvy and gorgeous but I DO NOT block sound waves …. swift few slaps to his head (which obviously felt no pain as there’s just open space in there where the 2 synapses he owns rarely meet).
In Ireland … the more you slag (tease) someone … the more you like them … so obviously Brian and I adore each other … ha … exceptions to every rule.
Maggie had us in stitches with her stories … the woman should be a stand up comic.
Around 11.30 we went down to McGirls pub where Kevan and Orla had brought in disco lights, smoke machine a sound system and a lovely banner … it means good bye for now.
There’s nothing wrong with the camera … that’s the smoke machine folks.
McGirls is an amazing old pub and we were all having the best craic talking and laughing … and even dancing.
Orla got us all up doing a mad group dance to a Glen Campbell song … and us women had a wonderful time dancing to old rock and roll favourites (as the men sat and watched … obviously mesmerised by our stunning beauty and cool moves!)
Liam McGirl, Kevan, Mary & Derek
… and there was even a wee bit of Irish dancing.
The pub has a great stove that heats the whole place … which is great when you come inside from the cold outside … nothing like stating the bleedin’ obvious Liz.
Very funny moment … some of us were out the back having a smoke when it started snowing (wonderful). Orla came out to tell us it was snowing at the front of the pub … hmmmm … and the back! Thanks Orla.
Here are some photos of my dear friends.

Kevan, Derek & Brian … handsome and very funny men … a delight to know them
Not sure what Brian & Lynda are doing here
and at the end of the evening Kevan & Orla practiced their waltzing and twirling
One of the best parties I’ve had and been to in a very long time … many thanks to co hostess Maggie for all the great food … and all our friends … for being great craic.
We all send Derek & Lynda our love and best wishes for their move to Athens Georgia … and a big wish for their swift return to Ballinamore … you are now part of our community and I’m going to pretend that you’ve just popped out to get the milk … and will be back real soon.
After many many many many many hours a few of us still had the stamina to go back to Mags for a final glass … and just in case I hadn’t had enough … Brian came back to my place for a beer … and it was 6am before you know it.
Felt tired but fab today … I have the constitution of an ox (but obviously not as big … Brian).
Went to get the Sunday papers at Phillips and he said how much he and the family enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tuesday blog post and the photos.
His youngest son came out and starting saying ‘liz biz … lizbiz … lizbiz’. Fab.
Friends are my wealth so I’m a billionaire … love them … amazing people and all so very much themselves … total individuals.
I’m off to bed now.
