It’s snowing outside and I can hear cars swishing along the street.
I went out for a while to buy a book and say hi to Dee and then Mags … it’s really really cold.
Am staying inside now for the rest of the day … snuggled in bed with a warm book and a hot man … kidding about the man … the new fridge freezer is my beloved … reliable … always there for me … full of things I love … conversation is a little stilted … but you can’t have everything.
Derek and Lynda came over yesterday around 4ish for afternoon tea … scones, jam & cream … irish salmon on bagels … chocolate swiss roll … pots of tea … hot fire.
We laughed and chatted and after a few hours I brought out the champagne and we just kept enjoying each others company … I cooked us all some dinner and opened a few bottles of red and we kept … yup … you guessed it … laughing and chatting.
Said good night around midnight.
I will miss them so much.
They and Mags and Brian are coming over for dinner tomorrow night … vegetarian lasagne … garlic and herb bread … salad … and more chat and laughter.
Somewhere tomorrow I will start some work but I’m not too fussed. It’ll get done when Derek and Lynda leave.
Right now I want to spend as much time with them as possible.
Hope your day is shining.
p.s I got myself out of the bed and away from the warm book and (imaginary) hot man … got the fire going … and have spent a few hours developing a new page in this blog.
Let me introduce you to the Shaylyn Traditional Peforming Arts Centre … based here in Ballinamore.
Have click on the button at the top of this page and have a read about them.
Ballinamore may be a small place … but we seem to be chock full of really entreprenurial people.
Small enterprises like Shaylyn & Cannaboe Confectionary … and many others … bring money into the local economy.
More importantly they are people with ideas and enthusiasm … and a commitment to their local community … support them.
Now … I’m going back to my warm laba (bed) and read my book.
