After a busy Friday I went to the opening of solo art exhibition by Marie Lee last night.
Her work is really lovely … a mix of land and seascape … and flowers.
As you wander the exhibition you can see how her skill has developed over the years.
I turned up at 7.30pm (the opening time) thinking that Irish Time would prevail (everyone turns up at least 40 minutes late) … no way … the place was packed.
I said hi to Ben and Gail and grabbed a glass of red wine … and up the stairs … and into the 2 galleries.
Here are some more of Marie Lee’s paintings.
I said hi to Joan Walsh … a great woman … artist & musician … she has a fab dog called Girleen.
I also met some of the members of the Art Group … people who really love painting … and are delighted to have any of their works exhibited.
Saturday and Coco has me up at 7am … just when people who went to the GAA dinner dance were probably getting home.
Why didn’t anyone tell me that pretty much everyone I knew was going?
Ah well … I wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyway.
I heard that a great time was had by all … and I look forward to the next one … which I think is planned for 2014 … heaps of time to save up.
I spent a few hours this morning updating the Page on Sustainable Building and Living … heaps more small home blogs and sites were added.
One day I hope to get a wee piece of land and build my own small home … dreams are good.
I went to say hi to Ber Hamill … she had been at the dance last night … as had the D’Arcy’s … Mags … Anne … Philip and Geraldine … Sharon … probably the dog in the street went as well … bitter? moi?
Amanda had rung and asked me … sorry for not getting back to you … I seem to have developed a phone aversion lately and live on email … bad Lizzy. Money is a bit tight at the moment … sure I’ll be out to play soon.
Maeve Hamill and I took Coco for a walk … through some freezing hail and then warm sunshine … you know you’re in Ireland.
Maeve is great with Coco and isn’t afraid of her anymore. Coco loves her and they happily ran around throwing and chasing sticks … Maeve throwing and Coco chasing.
I relaxed on the grass in the sunshine.
Got home and made a huge roasted vege lasagne … popped some in for Mags and Adrian … and Dee.
I had some for dinner and it was delicious.
Quiet night at home with Coco tonight and a sleep in tomorrow … clocks go forward.
I did mine last week by accident and was then delighted to put my clock back by an hour in the same day … shortest daylight saving on record.
I moved the Paddy’s Day photos to a Page at the top of the blog … lots of people are enjoying looking at neighbours and friends.
Tomorrow I’ll post some info on a few new courses at Shaylyn … jewellery making for adults and kids … and pilates.
Hope your Saturday has gone well.
We are very lucky to have an art gallery in town.
