Coco is a wonderful creature and she’s adding a real sparkle to my already sparkling life … I had wished for a dog by my birthday … and when you least expect it …
Thanks for all the good wishes … presents … phone calls for my birthday.
Great party and the kind of late night (6am) that need sunglasses the next day … and the next.
The craic was more than mighty and thanks everyone for making my birthday such a fun celebration.
Here’s me with my wonderful neighbour Therese Hamill.
She was my special guest.
Here are more of the Ballinamore crew.
You all know who you are so I’m not putting names to faces … thanks for all the fun guys.
And how’s Coco you ask?
Well dear reader … I thought Maggie was a star (she’s more of a constellation) … Coco has some kind of superstar status.
I’m taking her for 1 to 2 hour walks and everyone stops us and says how beautiful she is … and I’m invisible.
She is amazing … and I’m now up at 6.30 – 7am each morning to take her out to the back lane.
Now folks … my idea of an early morning is getting out of bed by 10am and exercise is moving from the bed to the couch (which Coco owns now).
It’s not too bad and the exercise is interesting … I’m looking forward to being more healthy and may fade to a shadow of my former self … we’ll see.
I went for a walk with Maeve yesterday and she had a go taking Coco on the leash … she also runs … which I don’t.
I never got the point of running … unless … I was being chased … or … chasing something (champagne maybe?).
Busy day today with a meeting about the Leitrim Experience programme.
Then Miriam (my driver an friend) took me for a visit to her sister and children by a lake – gorgeous day and lovely people.
Back home and a little nervous about how the lounge would look after Coco had been inside for 6 hours.
There was no mess and nothing chewed … I think Coco is better mannered than me …if someone had left me for 6 hours in one room … I would have at least chewed a chair.
Then we went for an hour walk and visited lots of neighbours … the weather has been wonderful the last few days …. sun sun sun and a bit of rain.
And … there’s a great group exhibition at the Art Gallery in town. It is based on the theme ‘Mountain’.
You can buy an original painting for less than 200 euro and there are some very good paintings.
Brent (Moo Bar) entered a painting of the Iron Mountain which I think is technically very good and also witty.
Ber (Hamills B&B) asked me to take a few photos yesterday of the B&B for their website.
They are so busy and the B&B seems to be always booked.
Seeing these photos you can see why.
Life is great and I hope things are going well for you.

Coco is beautiful and looks the part of a perfect gentle lady even though she is still a pup. I’m so glad you said “Yes” to her proposal. Isn’t it amazing how our dogs get us up, out, and about and just as amazing how people respond to your dog and forget you even exist. I sometimes feel like saying, “Hello, I am the person on the other end of the leash, please acknowledge my existence!” But no, I just stay quiet and bask in the affection Daisy
receives.
Glad to hear your B-day party went so well. The folks in the pics certainly look as though they were all having a good time. 😀
Lindy
Thanks Lindy
Birthday was great and glad it’s only once a year.
The Ballinamore Festival is starting in a few weeks and there will be heaps of photos.
It’s a mad week where people who were born and/or used to live in Ballinamore come for the week … and just party.
Take care
Liz
